The opening performance at the Halong Carnival 2008 will be held at several points in the area, including the old Bai Chay ferry landing, the Bai Chay Bridge and the Gulf of Cua Luc. It will be organised in the form of a carnival on the sea and on land and will include a fireworks display.

Opening the ceremony, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Van Tho said campaigns on the Halong Bay will help the world natural heritage site widely known among the international community, thus boosting the national images, especially the country’s culture and traditions.
